About the initiative
A simple idea: make it easy to thank a man.
Why Thank a Man exists
Most of us know a man who has quietly made our life better — through his patience, his humour, his steadiness or simply by being there. Too often, those things go unsaid.
Thank a Man invites people everywhere to say it out loud, publicly or privately, around International Men's Day on November 19.
What we hope to achieve
We hope to create many small moments of genuine appreciation — and through them, a wider conversation about the challenges many men face: loneliness, mental health, pressure to perform and difficulty asking for help.
Gratitude alone does not solve these problems. But feeling seen is a good place to start, and it can open the door to deeper connection.
Why appreciation and connection matter
A sincere thank-you tells someone that who they are matters — not just what they do. That message is at the heart of this campaign: a man's worth is inherent, and doesn't depend on how much he earns, achieves, provides or produces.
Why International Men's Day deserves attention
November 19 is a moment to celebrate the positive contributions of men and boys, and to pay attention to their wellbeing. It is not about competition between genders. Everyone — of every gender — is welcome to take part.
Our principles
Thank a Man is inclusive, compassionate, constructive and nonpartisan. We don't blame women or any other group, we don't shame men who are struggling, and we don't claim that one gesture fixes everything.
